What platforms is the project aimed at?

Post by dinly »

I wonder what systems it will be designed for, that is, IndiEngine. And which ones will be supported first. For it happens that the project is exclusively for Windows, and for the rest everything is somehow sluggish, or not at all, so I want to clarify this.

I suppose the focus should be on Android, as it will be a good competition with the frankly heavyweight Unity, because of which potentially lightweight games weigh as much as some Doom 3. In this regard, the fact that the engine is light allows us to easily keep the bar on Android, because on personal computers we will hardly stand the competition.

In this case, we have a choice of what means to keep our place in the mobile market - quality or quantity. One person who, as I understand it, is going to make a game on our engine, clearly does not pretend to any of these points... I can hardly imagine how we can resist the pressure of a huge number of games riveted on the knee with the help of Unreal Engine or Unity.

Resist not a problem ... If done smart. Graphics are not the most important thing now, an example is Undertale. Game design in general is yes. But it seems to me that Bratish have their own style, which is generally pleasant to me, and I think that many will consider it as an imitation of the early games of the nineties (System Shock 1, Rise of the Triad, and so on), and now such "retro" games are more or less popular due to the dominance of AAA projects with better graphics than reality.

Drawing conclusions...
