How to name SH-Demo Project?
Re: How to name SH-Demo Project?
Something I agree with you. The very fact that the album is being prepared long before the work on the game itself cannot but be alarming. But if you think so, then it will even go in favor of the final product. Well-mixed studio quality music will look much better in-game than quickly mixed tracks (which will inevitably happen if the music is written AFTER the game itself is developed). So from this point of view, I cannot judge Mr. Clement.
Re: How to name SH-Demo Project?
You say, xizer, that it's better to polish the music long before playing. Yes, there is some sense - when creating game content, no one will be distracted by such trifles as music. But have you thought about what this might lead to? The team, inspired by the almost finished album, will start making the game itself slipshod and will release the game after the soundtrack is released, which will eventually look like "Game for the Music Album." Do you want this? We're making a game engine, we're not a music label! We do not give rights to the glossary to these gentlemen so that they make music! We give them the rights to show them what kind of GAME on our engine can be done!

Re: How to name SH-Demo Project?
In my opinion, those who write here have a little distracted from the essence of the topic. The developer (no matter who it is - a composer or a game designer) writes that he cannot navigate the right choice of a name for his project, and asks you to help him. Instead, you tell him not to make music before work on the game itself has begun. All this is strange, isn't it?

I also do not quite understand why there are such disputes. There seems to be nothing provocative in the title of the topic... Or is it the topic-starter? Ah, none of my business, by God.

It looks like yes, the point is who created this thread. After all, usually composers care little about the name of the project for which they write music. They only care that they have enough strength for good music and how much they will be paid for everything (though this only applies to commercial composers). By the way, in that case, do you care about money?
